Female Entrepreneurs in the Long Nineteenth Century: A Global Perspective

In 2019 Catherine was a visiting fellow at Northumbria University, working with Dr Jennifer Aston co-editing a collection focusing on businesswomen throughout the world in the long nineteenth century.

A highly successful workshop involving contributors was held in April.

The collection will feature chapters focusing on North and South America, Britain, Western Europe, Russia, Turkey, Southern Africa, Asia and Australia and New Zealand.

The enterprising women in these pages include New Zealand butchers, French dentists, African farmers, Mexican laundresses and even Chinese pirates.

This collection will be published in March 2020 by Palgrave Macmillan.
